His new cape is his first super-villain!
Thanks Mark, There are times when a superhero’s cape is a cartoonist’s greatest super-villain too. Thin flapping cloth can be a bear to draw. The stuff can take on a life of its own.

The stock answer for why Superman has a cape is that it’s aerodynamic for when he flies. And, Batman’s cape is representative of bat wings. But for the permanently grounded and terminally clumsy, capes are dangerous π
