Thanks David,
Less fun to see on the bottom of your foot.
Good thing that’s not a busy street!
You’re right, Thursday’s background of the London street is terrific! You stated that this was a pen and ink with a watercolor wash style. Just curious how you did it. Did you actually draw it the old fashioned way, create it digitally, or a little bit of both? Either way, it looks wonderful and I look forward to see what you come up with next. 🙂
Thanks Howard,
It is all done digitally. I work 100% in Adobe Illustrator. I have been trying to figure out how to get a watercolor style of background. Obviously I can do it outside the software and import the scan of the physical painting. I have done that before on a small scale IE trees and some props, but I have wanted an easier less time consuming method. I’ll try to write an article for my Bristol Board blog when time permits.
Stepping out and stepping in! Wow, on those backgrounds, J.P.! Lovin’ this storyline!
Thanks Mark,
I too am very pleased with the presentation and plan to keep pushing the envelope. It’s just fun.
It sure shows in the work!
It’s the mark of (whatever the horse’s name is…)
Kicking backgrounds, JP! I can see you put a lot of work in them!
Thanks RG,
Normally I shy away from “shop” talk. Sara and I try to focus on the writing and the humor, but for this adventure I am stretching a bit on the backgrounds as they hopefully will add to the story and humor as we go. The horses name is Thunderstorm.
