When you have so many different groups, each with their own special perspectives ( bug, plants, frogs, squirrels and birds ) you can expect a great deal of mistrust to evolve naturally. Everyone is sure that the others are out to get their chips (a gaming reference). So their normal approach is to use the old “code of the west” – do unto others before they have a chance to do it unto to you.
