Comic art is meant to be entertaining but it can also be informative. This new Pudding story will hopefully be both. The discovery of a cancer is very emotional. All too often we have been conditioned by what we see and hear, that cancer is an automatic death sentence. This is not the case in fact, but none the less the initial reaction of most people. Just tell someone that you have a cancer and watch the expression on their face. I hope that you will enjoy this latest tale from Lake Tuberville and perhaps also gain some insight into the fear, frustration and courage involved in facing an illness. -JPK

I don’t think cancer would be near as frightening if the treatment wasn’t so harsh.
That’s true, although most people don’t have any idea about the treatment before they start it, except maybe the part about losing their hair. As the story continues Dalton is going to experience a lot of new things. Stay tuned.
I think we all get a little freaked out when we discover a strange mole or something. I can relate to the little guy!
You think he’s freaked out now, just wait till Thursday, doctor “speak” is really scary stuff.
I can relate to Dalton too.. it can be very stressful just to think about what MIGHT happen.
The stress will come from many different places in this tale. Some imagined and others real. Buckle your seat belt.
Leave it to the simplest of life forms to bring attention to such a complex and often disconcerting subject. It takes a lot to balance serious with funny, J.P., this really is a courageous strip.
Thanks Mark, get ready for some wild swings as this tale is a bit of a roller coaster journey.
