It has been over three months as a hiatus, so the first strip back is a brief recap of where we left off. We appreciate your patience, the time off was most needed. In case you are not familiar with our comic production methods, we produce the comic in Adobe Illustrator on a Mac computer. Unfortunately, our production Mac aged out and was no longer able to be updated with the most current versions of the Apple operating system. Which ultimately meant that all of our other production software could not be updated either. So we have had to acquire a new Mac ( Imac 27 ) and additionally a new Cintiq Pro 24 drawing display. Moving from over 12 years on a system to all new equipment and software is , to say the least, challenging. We aren’t totally comfortable that everything is working correctly yet which is why we are boring you with this TMI explanation.

Sorry to hear about your technical troubles but very happy to see that you are back!
Thanks Howard,
It actually started when I tried to do my taxes and discovered that my tax preparation software wouldn’t run on my current version of OSX on my Mac. So I was forced to buy a new Mac that could run the software just to do my taxes and business accounting. Then I realized that I couldn’t update my Illustrator software on the old Mac either. The old system still works fine but not with all the new software. So then I had to make a decision about my drawing display. Considering I had bought it in 2006, it seemed to be about time to invest in a new drawing display as well. I am migrating things from one system to another although I had already done significant migration to the “cloud” which really facilitated things. Slowly but surely I am ironing out the kinks. I am glad to be back to doing the comic, my creative batteries are recharged and hopefully it will show in the new strips soon.
I completely understand. Something similar happened to me. Your old computer had a good run and getting a new drawing display is always sort of exciting. So glad to see you back!
