The reason they call Archibald’s style of tunnel navigation “Dead Reckoning” is because when he ends up missing the bank vault, Professor Snortiarty is going to kill him.

Maybe they’ll tunnel into a sausage factory!
Like many things in life, the outcome of their efforts is not a foregone conclusion. Although reaching the bank vault does seem highly unlikely, all things considered.
I am not real familiar with bank vaults but do they have dirt bottoms? It might be hard to tunnel through the steel floor.
They have to find the bottom of the vault before the floor will matter. At the moment I seriously doubt they will find the bank unless it’s the bank of Lake Tuberville, as in the edge of the lake.
Just because you’re moving forward, doesn’t mean your going anywhere…
I can relate to that, life sometimes seems like a hamster wheel.
