Not since the days of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus has there been an act more daring than being shot out of a cannon. But our heros are about to attempt that death defying feat of riding a vacuum powered bullet transport. Long before the Virgin Hyperloop One, the bullet transport was seen in the 1938 Serial : Flash Gordon’s Trip To Mars

The quicker way!
Thanks David,
Like strapping a bottle rocket to your back 🙂
Not a problem. People have been riding in high speed glass bullets since 1938. Just show ’em the pictures.
By the way, the included Flash Gordon pictures were a great idea.
Thanks Howard,
It was Sara’s idea. I am trying to catch some of the flavor of the old serial in my prop work. It certainly isn’t as evolved as 21st century designs, but it was in many cases the visionary sources that much of current Sci Fi has used as inspirations.
Just keep your arms inside the vehicle… O_o
Thanks RG,
That’s great advice. And you can add heads and shoulders to that warning too. 🙂 and append this to it : “The decapitation / amputation you avoid may be your own.”
Cool! I love that it’s based on previous Scifi history!
Thanks Julian,
Most “Space Operas” IE. Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica ect. are all derivative, in one way or the other, from Alex Raymonds Flash Gordon.
Life in the fast lane!
Thanks Mark
Tesla would have approved!
