In a world where comic strip art can be done totally digital, one big trade off is the absence of physical art work suitable for framing and display. Here is my first attempt at closing that gap. These are prints of the actual strips brought to life in the real world. They will be going up on my studio wall eventually, but for now they are scheduled to travel with me to some conventions for show and tell.
When talking to potential readers at a convention, my goal is always to make sure that they at least walk away from our meeting with the www.bugpudding.com URL firmly memorized as well as a nice printed souvenir post card to remind them how to find the comic online. But, nothing is more compelling than physically looking at and holding the comic art itself. Thanks to a suggestion from Bill Riling, we are now calling these prints “Digi-Original” art.

I want a button… still waiting for a “digoriginal”, I just coined that term, you can use it. Pronounced dij-original…
The button will be in the mail this week!! E-mail me and tell me which strip of the 70 + so far that you want and I’ll send it with your button and it will include a unique hand drawn and inked personal addition to make it a one of a kind digi-original. It’s the least I can do considering all the goodies you have given to me.
I will take digi-original # one if you please… it’s a landmark strip, thanks!
I love the idea of giving away postcard art at conventions!
The give away cards were a big success. Previously we had used 8 x 11 printed flyers that were basically line art and text on colored paper. They were OK but people treated them as if they were just scraps of paper where as with the glossy printed cards they acted like they had receive a valuable collectable and it was obvious that they would keep them and take them home.
m_) They look great indeed, and it is very inspiring to see all your progress, master, for I am now all on my own working with “Louie the SInlge Man” and all in here keeps me motivated as you may have probably noticed already.
