I’ve always loved chain reaction humor. Chuck Jones was a master at creating the funniest chain reactions in his Road Runner cartoons. He would set-up a gag where Wyle Coyote would get pummeled and then just as the audience had a chance to start laughing, he would let loose a whole chain of follow on gags like a cascading string of dominoes falling down. Poor Monroe just can’t catch his breath.
On a side note, Photoshop is an amazing tool when it comes to digital painting of effects like water and water falls and rocks. I’ll see you again on Thursday.

Ha,ha,ha. Good stuff. Agreed. You can work that PhotoShop. Great graphics work!
Thanks, I really am having fun with this part of the story. It’s working me pretty good just trying to render the required backgrounds. The wasteland scenes were fun too, but as the group from Lake Tuberville gets closer to the squirrel’s lair the whole story gets much more detailed. It’s a challenge in terms of the writing, pacing, layout and graphics but then that’s why doing a comic is such a pleasure.
I love the last panel and the wording. Instead of “Why me?”, you have “Why always me?”. It just reads 200% funnier. Great strip!
Lonnie,
Thanks, it only seems appropriate, Monroe feels that he gets an unfair share of the grief in this storyline, so he just wants to know why he always seems to be the singular lightning rod for abuse. I keep telling him that he needs to get a better talent agent and renegotiate his contract.
