Here is a peek at the design of my newest convention banner. It will be 8 ft. tall and 3 ft. wide. The theme is “what happens when you rotate your drawing board before the ink and paint dries”. I’ll have pictures to post of the actual banner once it is made. I’m using Banners On The Cheap.

Now that is an awesome banner…and funny.
Thanks Bo, my daughter and I are doing a huge convention DragonCon (over 60,000 people) at the end of Aug. and we are sharing a table in the comic artists alley so we wanted to each have a banner hanging behind us. We each needed a 8′ x 3′ banner. I’ll post pictures after the event. I just thought it would be fun to show what might happen if a regular comic strip got tilted on to its side and gravity kicked in.
I’ve heard of breaking the Fourth Wall, but never sliding out of it! Really inventive, J. P., great job!
Most appreciated Mark, it was a perplexing design challenge for me having to do such a large narrow vertical. I toyed with doing a playground slide, a roller coaster, all sorts of vertical concepts. Nothing made sense, then I thought of doing a stacked comic strip but decided that it would be interesting but not anything different. That’s when it hit me to do a comic turned on its side and break the 4th wall. It went through a number of iterations and almost made me a little crazy working it out, so I appreciate the feedback that it appears to work. I can’t wait to see how it translates to that large a size.
